Greetings to you all Brothers & Sisters in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and best wishes for the year 2012.

According to the Mayan calendar, the world will end in the year 2012. But we are witnessing various events, whether it is a celestial or terrestrial, which are by the moment disturbing to the minds of the people who live across the world. We have also seen the nation of Israel giving an ultimatum to Iran with regard to putting an end to achieving nuclear status at the beginning of this year. This will result in 2012 becoming a possible eruption of a major crisis in the Middle-East. This does not argue well for the peace, stability and the economic progress for the whole world.

Turning our focus now to the church an our individual lives as the Bible very clearly articulate, we are living in the final hours of the last church age, which is the 7th church age as described in the Book of Revelation as the Laodicean Church age. The Bible also describes the status of this church age generally as luke-warm. But there are individuals chosen and called to open their lives to Christ to have communion with them and them with him.

Like what happened in the first church age, which is the beginning of the Apostilic church age, also known as the Ephesians church age, the Holy Spirit was poured to individuals whilst the organised religion of the day Pharisees and Sadducees missed it.  And the Holy Spirit gave power to individuals who became the first new Covenant Church on the day of the Pentecost to demonstrate the efficacy and the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Most often the things that recorded in the Old Testament has set us up as types and shadows of things to come, particularly in the light the new covenant experience.  Hence, the story of Elijah and Elisha as recorded in the Book of First Kings, Chapter 16 running up to the second Kings Chapter 13 is somewhat typically the times that can be identified to our day.  In the time of Elijah, the nation of Israel had been backsliding and moved away from following the living God.  Ahab and Queen Jezebel’s false religion, Baal worship was introduced to Israel.  The nation of Israel was full of false Prophets, Teachers and worshipping of false deities and gods were rampant in Israel.  In that backdrop Elijah was raised by God as the true Prophet to proclaim the truth.  He was greatly filled with the Spirit of God and openly challenged these falsehoods and stood for the truth, demonstrate the power and efficacy of God.  God not only used Elijah to proclaim the truth and showcased the errors and falsehoods of the existing religion system but also showcase the power of God through signs, wonders and miracles to demonstrate the efficacy of God. 

But the time came for Elijah once he finished his God given task to pass over that responsibility to someone and it was none other and under the God’s divine direction and design, anointing of Elisha where Elijah cast his mantle and his God given responsibility but when this responsibility came over to Elisha, he was a professional farmer, very much busy and engaged in his farming work and ploughing with 12 of his Oxen (2 Kings 19:19-21).  But when the call of God came upon him, when the spirit of God awakened him, the first thing he did was to kill the Oxen, dismantle the yoke of the plough and other instruments of the oxen and used them as fire wood to boil the meat to feed his family and community, his last commercial activity, clearly indicating that the calling is so strong that he would not go back to that profession again. 

This commitment gave Elisha to be a vessel of God to receive the double portion of the Spirit of God that was upon Elijah and you would see the most powerful ministry of Elisha demonstrating greater revelations of his word, truth and manifestation of God’s glory, majesty with great signs and wonders.

In this final moment of the last church age, which is the seventh church age represented in the story of Parables of wise virgins and foolish virgins as recorded in the Book of Mathew, chapter 25, the wise virgins represent the true church in the last age, who are filled with the Holy Spirit and who are awakened by the message “Behold, the bridegroom cometh”.  This is indeed the ministry of Elijah recorded in the Malachi 4:5:6, where turning of the hearts of the children back to the fathers.  In short, the children of the final church age have to experience the genuine power and the efficacy of the Spirit of God that was experienced during the Apostilic church age (first church age) by the Apostilic fathers.  The key responsibilities of the Ministry of Elisha in turning the hearts towards Apostilic fathers and opening up the final revelation and the mystery of the final church age as recorded in the Revelation 10:7 has gone through its process and now the true believers in this church age represented in the Ministry of Elisha would have the double portion of the God’s Spirit to manifest the glory, majesty, power and the likeness of Christ Jesus.

You would see on this day that there would be a nucleus of people who would standout demonstrating God’s plan and design in their lives.  The question is are you and I a part of this ?
